Senior System Engineer
Responsibilities:
iconectiv is managing a series of data products and services related to national and international interconnection. The Senior System Engineer will organize and lead efforts to produce business and detailed system requirements for complex software solutions and act as the technical product owner to support Number Management sand Registry services globally. This will require the SE to design an overall solution and develop detailed functional requirements addressing the business processes, flows, and interface specifications. Enhancements are required based on regulator mandates, customer interactions, and marketability improvements.
The Senior System Engineer will support the following functions as directed by the Sr. Director of Systems Engineering and Solution Architecture.
- Interpret and convert business requirements and customer feedback into solution designs and detailed functional requirements (conveyed in the form of user stories) for consumption by the development team.
- Guide the software development, testing and verification of requirements through laboratory work as needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional business and technical teams (including system engineers, developers, and testers) and key customer stakeholders to create highly effective, usable, intuitive, and consistent user interfaces.
- Create mockups, prototypes, proof of concepts, etc. during the development cycle for new features and capabilities.
- Function as the user advocate during the development process and offer suggestions from a user-centered perspective.
- Participate in demos and support the QA testing efforts to ensure the user experience requirements are fulfilled.
Requirements:
- Experience in writing engineering requirements for large-scale, highly available, fault-tolerant, real-time, and distributed systems
- Several years of experience in areas like systems engineering, integration, systems architecture, or information security.
- Ability to interpret and translate industry and customer business processes and requirements into detailed technical requirements, performing gap analysis and proposing solutions which can be easily understood by developers and testers.
- Ability to understand and define common architectural styles for APIs (REST/JSON/YAML, SOAP/XML, Webhooks, etc.)
- Broad scope of technical background, including such areas as databases, interface protocols, security, encryption, analytics
- Ability and desire to research modern technologies and provide direction to a team of developers and testers.
- Experience with delivery and support as a system engineer and product owner in an agile environment adhering to agile best practices is required.
- Excellent verbal, written and communication skills is required with the ability to interact with end users/customers on a regular basis.
- Strong time management skills with a history of meeting commitments are required.
- B.S. in Computer Science discipline with 8+ years of experience or equivalent working experience
- U.S. Citizenship required

Additional Skills:
- Experience in designing billing modules and automated interfaces with ERP systems would be a plus but is not required.
- Experience with usability engineering is desired but is not required.
- Telecommunication IT requirement process experience is desired.
NOC III Engineer
Responsibilities:
Your role as a NOC III Engineer is to ensure service platform health and integrity through system, application, network, database, and security monitoring. In this position, you will play a crucial role in the Network Security Operations Center by being a key member of the service solution monitoring team as Technical NOC Team Leader. In addition to monitoring you will be required to provide support to the Customer Service and Operations Engineering teams to assist in troubleshooting service/system issues, collecting system/application/performance data, opening trouble tickets, performing notifications and escalations and system and application sanity testing. You will have the following responsibilities:
• Technical Team Leader Responsibilities: Train and mentor associate engineers in application knowledge, troubleshooting and testing; management of notifications for platform service issues and/or outages; escalation notifications for service and/or customer issues; delegation of NOC workflow and duties and other related team leader obligations.
• Must be available to work 24x7 rotating shifts including day, swing, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Data Center escorts in the NJ data center as needed.
• Production and Test environment application and security (SIEM) platform monitoring for alarms, performance and security issues on systems, applications, databases, and network/customer connectivity.
• Participate in change management process planning, manage change executions, and perform system critical changes and validations real time with strict time constraints.
• Manage application, network, security events that occur. Create, modify, troubleshoot, and close production trouble tickets. Routing issues to appropriate teams or vendors to be investigated and provide technical and procedural assistance wherever needed or requested.
• Perform basic system administrator functions such as: alarm detection, correlation, and resolution; capture and review error logs, capture and analyze trace data, platform sanity testing, run performance and capacity analysis reports and provide overall system administration assistance whenever needed or requested.
• Support platform maintenance and testing initiatives.
• Support/Perform Project Tasks, Requirements, and other Operations deliverables, as requested.
• Strictly adhere to standard Methods and Procedures (M&P) and Protocols defined for Operations Center personnel.
• Generate and maintain operational and technical documentation to support the development and/or improvement of all Operations initiatives - M&Ps, Standard Operations Procedures, MoPs, Testing Execution Records, and Technical Administration Guides.
• Manage and perform assigned daily, weekly, and monthly operations maintenance duties.
• Mandatory attendance at staff meetings and training seminars.
Required Qualifications:
• Must be available to work 24x7 rotating shifts including day, swing, nights, weekends, and holidays.

• Knowledge of IT service operations and management. Experience in a customer care and technical support in an IT environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications Suite and SharePoint.
• Familiarity with ITIL standards, Number Portability, Telecommunications and Networking is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in technology related field – MIS, Computer Science, Networking, EE or ME or minimum of 6 years of relevant working experience.

NOC II Engineer

Required Qualifications:

• Hands on Experience with Security Monitoring (Minimum 1-year SIEM experience required for tier 1 level investigations)
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in technology related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant working experience.
• Hands on production Linux/Solaris experience and system administration experience.
• Must have previous production experience in Network or Application Service Operations Center, technical troubleshooting, customer support, monitoring systems and knowledge of ticket and incident management, resolution, and escalation processes.
• Knowledge of IT service operations and management. Experience in a customer care and technical support in an IT environment including troubleshooting browser configurations and end user issues with VPN client installation and configurations.
• Hands on experience with RSA provisioning and connectivity troubleshooting
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications Suite and SharePoint.
• Proficiency with Written and Oral communications and documentation.
• Familiarity with ITIL standards, ServiceNow, Testing, Number Portability, Telecommunications and Networking is a plus.

Program Manager
Responsibilities:
iconectiv is managing a series of data products and services related to national and international interconnection. This position is for an up-and-coming individual interested in program management. It will involve managing projects from inception to completion, across several product units, matching customer needs with iconectiv resources to achieve project profit objectives. Responsibilities include service delivery and program management of select contracts within the iconectiv suite, delivering to small and large enterprises, government organizations, consortiums, and joint ventures. The contracts will be product deliveries and managed services arrangements that include system deployment, customer testing and integration, data center set-up, operations, help desk and payment tracking and accrual. Required skills include strong project management practices, strong oral and written communications skills to interface with both the customer and internal stakeholders. The candidate should be prepared to coordinate risk management processes and program reviews. This includes contract compliance tracking, financial assessments, and schedule management. The customer base is domestic and multinational, and the role may require domestic and international travel from time to time.
The Program Manager will support the following services:
- Overseeing implementation efforts of the contract or service
- Work with existing Program Managers to coordinate program support for select contracts.
- After a period of transition, serve as customer’s single point of contact for iconectiv during the project plan period.
- With the customer, create, define, and track major milestones in the project plan, including:
- Development of specifications – interface and work flow
- Acceptance test development and performance
- Training – end user and system operation and maintenance
- Post deployment customer and contract management for ongoing enhancement and maintenance and support services.
- Other service activities
- Conduct and attend status meetings with customer at a frequency mutually agreed to by customer and iconectiv.
- Work with internal iconectiv staff to select and contract and manage subcontractors to ensure they meet the project plans.
- Coordinate and manage budgets, schedules and any personnel selected to work on-site to perform projects tasks.
- Develop and execute communication plans with the customer and local partners providing status reports as required.
- Support financial reporting needs for billing operations, payment collections, revenue share and accrual reporting.
- Identifying and creating opportunities for follow-on work identifying customer needs and make recommendations to iconectiv sales and account management teams.
- Report to internal management status, risks, and future direction of active projects.
- Typically requires 4+ years related experience with a BS or MS.
The role requires working on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Exercising judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Exhibit functional expertise, working on problems requiring ingenuity and creativity. Usually self-initiated, where work is usually performed independently with minimal direction from manager.
Requirements:
- Excellent communications skills with customers who are not usually engineers and could include C level executives.
- Ability to manage technical, business, and sensitive customer issues through clear communications, broad awareness to independently develop resolution paths and manage their execution.
- Project management skills to organize, track, refine and execute various activities.
- Enough technical awareness to understand high-level technical terms and impacts of service and SLA terms, such as system outage, unavailability, etc. and basic system operations terms and behaviors that would result in actions affecting system service.
- Ability to understand customer contracts and project requirements and how to develop plans to meet them.
- Critical thinking skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint software
Additional Skills:
- PMI/PMP certification would be a plus but is not required.
- Working knowledge of telecommunications, messaging, numbering, and number portability is a plus.
