Upcoming Connect (X) panel with iconectiv’s John Hayes explores the challenges, opportunities and considerations for 5G network planning and expansion 

What:        Many service providers are in the early stages of the significant network upgrades required to deploy next-generation apps and services—and their ability to fully monetize 5G. Hurdles like spectrum demands, regulatory challenges, infrastructure needs and investment requirements prevent 5G connectivity from being ubiquitous across all providers and locations. The telecom industry is racing to deliver on consumer expectations while dealing with the complexities of building a trusted and secure communications experience.

In a session at Connect (X), industry experts will discuss the deployment challenges of 5G, and what service providers and the larger telecom ecosystem are learning along the way. John Hayes, Head of Solutions Engineering at iconectiv will explore the details of how a network is sourced and transitioned, and why it’s critical that service providers have full visibility into the location, assets and capabilities of all available infrastructure  and network sites, including:

•    A need for independently verified industry-standard nomenclature that identifies passive infrastructure locations and information about the functionality at those sites.
•    How companies that own passive infrastructure, such as towers, and other network sites can provide the visibility that service providers need to maximize 5G and network investments. 
•    How service providers and companies that own and operate towers and other network sites can work together to enhance network planning and service activation and ensure the  ubiquity of their network coverage.
